Aryamehr Islamic Center

The Aryamehr Islamic center is designed to satisfy a spiritual need and at the same time to respect the religious, cultural and national heritage of Iran. Neither a repetition of the past nor an imitation of conventional modern design, it is composed of unusual forms and spaces which together signify the unique aspects of a House of God.

Low structures surrounding the dominant main mosque and ceremonial hall contain a library and museum, a research and discussion hall, guest house and offices, and a mausoleum. Five minarets are placed to integrate the various forms and elements into a single composition while at the same time symbolizing the five saints and the five basic tenets of Islam. The whole is designed for the role of a religious center which will take its historical place as the symbol of an era.
